From Plan to Pantry: Organizing a Neighborhood Food Drive.
Do a little, help a lot . . .

ABOUT THE BOOK
Organizing a Neighborhood Food Drive.
William Harazin presents a simple way of organizing a neighborhood food drive to address food insecurity in your community. In 2023, 47.4 million people—1 in 7 people--experienced food insecurity in the US. This is unacceptable. A partial solution is organizing a neighborhood food drive.
The author has participated in and organized annual food drives since 2018 to help local food pantries carry out their mission of feeding the hungry in their community. The joy in the faces of the Food Pantry volunteers upon delivery of the food from the food drives is only exceeded by the joy on the faces of those receiving the food.
This is a simple plan with the mantra of "If we all do a little, we all can accomplish a lot" through community action. The strategy is to break the food drive into small manageable tasks so that no volunteer does much, but collectively they accomplish a lot by delivering a significant amount of food to a Food Pantry in a short time for distribution to those in need.
This book provides an understanding of the mechanics of a neighborhood food drive and will explain and guide you through each task. It also has more than 20 sample documents to help you recruit and communicate with volunteers for your local food drive. This plan can be carried out by civic groups, churches, schools, youth groups, and neighborhoods seeking to make a difference in their community.
